The best light for jobs is especially bright and cool light so that you can distinguish every detail of your work. This way you can still see perfectly which areas you still need to cover when painting, even without daylight. There are of course many more factors that you can take into account before purchasing an LED floodlight. Do you want to know which one? Then read on!
A good LED floodlight for odd jobs is handy, but the lamp must be able to stand firmly. It is also easy if the lamp can be turned so that you can direct the light without effort. Most LED floodlights have a small tripod on the back that is sufficient for most purposes. These LED floodlights can also be mounted on the wall. This makes them suitable for use as permanent light in the garden or under the carport. The LED floodlights with a special ground stand are ideally suited for the demanding handyman who wants to easily move and adjust his light.
A LED floodlight of 30 watts or 50 watts is sufficient for many household chores, such as painting, wallpapering or laying tiles. For small, simple jobs, a 10 or 20 watt LED floodlight can offer a solution when the object that needs to be highlighted is not large. For large surfaces you need a more powerful LED floodlight of 100 watts or more. The higher the wattage, the further and usually wider the light shines.
The ideal light color for DIY is a cool white light color of 6000K. This light color lets colors and contrast through the most, or it is a very clear, bright light color. The neutral 4500K or even 2700K is more suitable for lighting in the garden or carport, for example. 2700K is pre-eminently warm light and is more suitable for mood lighting where you do not necessarily have to see every detail.
In Europe it is mandatory that all LED floodlights are tested according to European standards. When a lamp has been tested, it receives an IK and IP classification.
These 2 values represent the following:
inIK value = The extent to which the LED construction lamp is resistant to mechanical impacts. The higher the value, the more the lamp can take a beating. The maximum IK value is 10.
IP value = The extent to which the LED construction lamp is resistant to moisture and dust, with IP-67 being the maximum classification. Then the lamp is completely dust and waterproof.
