Different LED spectrums

The light spectrum is one of the most important aspects of you LED growing bulb. This is decisive for the size of the plant and its fruits. The light spectrum is therefore directly related to the yield. We distinguish a number of phases from the plant/flower and thereby indicate which light spectrum is best suited.

Germination

The initial phase of the plant is the process of germination, it is important here the blue light around 400nm (nanometer) and 440nm. Clear white light and UV light can also be important in this phase, but this depends on the type of plant. In particular, plants that produce fruits or flowers is advisable to use this light. White and UV Light can be found in particular in a 7-band spectrum or higher.

Growth phase

This part of the plant's life cycle is mainly about leaf formation. This phase is very important because the amount of leaves is related to the amount of photosynthesis. The more leaf the more photosynthesis there can take place in the plant and more photosynthesis means a larger, healthier plant that most likely produces more and larger fruits. Blue light and red light around 600Nm and 640NM is important in this phase. You can find these colors in most spectra such as 7-band, full spectrum and white full spectrum.

Flowering phase

The flowering phase is indispensable when growing flowers, fruit and vegetables. Here the difference is made between only leaf formation and the total formation and bloom. During the flowering phase, the end product is formed that in many cases is the most important part and at the same time the goal of breeding. A good spectrum is therefore essential in this phase. That is why we recommend at least a 7-band spectrum in which Orange (550nm) 'Ver-Rood' (660NM and 670NM) is also incorporated. A 12-band spectrum (also known as 'full-spectrum') contains the above characteristics. In addition, infrared, green and UV is often added that is an extra stimulator at the start of the flowering phase.

LED lamps with white light

Nowadays, white light is widely used in LED grow lights. There are a number of important differences. Bright white light (6,5000K) is intended for growth.
Due to the clear white LEDs, the spectrum has a lot of blue that promotes growth.

White Full Spectrum

For a number of years, white full spectrum lamps have also come on the market.
A white full spectrum is perfect for growth & flowering and has the biggest advantage; You can always view your plants well without special glasses. This allows you to detect problems or diseases in your plants faster. The spectrum is made up of 2 different colors of white (3000K & 6000K) and usually additional colors are added such as ver-red, infrared and UV.  Adding these make the spectrum complete and ensure that your plants become even tastier and healthier.

Conclusion

The conclusion is that a white full spectrum is currently the most advanced light spectrum that can be used in garden and greenhouse construction. This contains the complete light package that supports growth and flowering. The white full spectrum LED light contains very high par values. The exact par value naturally also depends on the wattage of the LED growing lamp itself. You can find more information about the par value here.
